About

3D Tabletop is dedicated to creating informative and educational content that focuses on the intersection of 3D printing and tabletop gaming.

My name is Terry McClary. I am pretty sure if you saw me on the street "obsessed with 3D Printing and tabletop gaming" would not be your first guess at a description of me, but it is an accurate one. For the last 20+ years I have been a professional self-representing artist and fine art photographer. My degree is in graphic design. For a few years I also ran a small graphic design business focused on helping micro-business owners with affordable branding.

At the end of 2015, I decided I needed a new creative direction. I dedicated 2016 to finding that new path which led me to becoming fully immersed in 3D printing and tabletop gaming and the point where the two intersect. I have been a gamer and a maker for as long as I can remember. As a young child, I learned to sew, crochet, embroider, draw...really anything I could find space and materials for. As a teen my social time was spent playing board games with friends (we were a wild bunch). Fantasy sculpture, digital art, and miniature photography have long been part of my professional portfolio, so moving into 3D Printing for tabletop gaming is almost more of a natural progression than a sharp turn.

Bits about me:
  • 3D Printing has become my medium and obsession of choice.
  • Tabletop games are awesome...all of them from card games to Euro to RPG.
  • Video games are also awesome.
  • I say awesome a lot. I was a teen in the '80s. I cannot help myself.
  • My first digital camera was a Sony Mavica that used 3.5 inch discs in the late 1990's.
  • Built my first website to showcase my work through CompuServe using a 28.8K dial-up modem.
  • Mostly listen to music on vinyl.
  • Toys are even better to play with as a grown up.
  • If I can make a mark with it I will try to make art with it.
  • Miniatures are awesomeness in tiny packages.
